The junior camp out will take place on Friday, May 30 – starting at 7:00 pm and will conclude at 7:00 am on Saturday, May 31.
This whole class event is a 12 hour campout on the football field at Jefferson. The night will be filled with various fun activities such as a bonfire, soccer tournament, and a soc hop.
- Reminder of items to bring!
- Tent (campers can pre-arrange to share)
- sleeping bag, pillow, blankets
- flashlight
- lots of warm clothes. – it gets very cold at night
- rain gear – in case it rains
- athletic shoes
Students are assigned to bring in food for the campout based on the period in which you take Physics.
1st - soda and sport drinks
2nd and 3rd - water
4th - bagged snacks (pretzels, chips)
5th - cookies, brownies, desserts
6th - bagels and cream cheese
7th - fruits and vegetables
Please bring food and drinks to Trailer 9 on the day of the event.
It will be a fun time for the class of 2009!

On Monday, May 19th, the entire junior class took a trip downtown to Washington, D.C. Grouped by HUMs, students got a chance to see what they have been learning and reading about in class come alive by visiting various sites. These included the Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Monument, Corcoran Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery in the American Art Museum, and the American Indian Museum. It was a great day for all.

The Armory, TJ’s new store is located at the end of the physics hallway. This is where all TJ students can purchase classroom essentials such as pencils, notebooks, USB flash drives, index cards, balloons, and locker decorations – all for a small fee. The Armory hours of operation are from 8:00 am - 8:25 am and during lunch Monday thru Friday. We hope you’ll stop by to see the new store and purchase your supplies!

MR. COLONIAL:
Mr. Colonial, a fun TJ tradition, will be held March 7th from 7pm – 11pm in the Auditorium. This is a competition where guys from all classes dance, eat, sing, and showcase other talents for the ultimate title of Mr. Colonial. Come to this event so you can cast your vote for the male who’ll best represent TJ as Mr. Colonial. You must be at the event in order to cast your vote!
Also, there will be pizza and a movie in the Cafeteria starting at 4:30pm before the event!

March 7. 2008 - Mr. Colonial, a fun competition of dancing, eating, and singing where guys from all the classes compete for the ultimate title of Mr. Colonial. It's up to you to come to the event and vote for who will win!
April 25, 2008 - Spring Premiere (formally known as the spring formal) - A movie premiere and post premiere party, this year's spring formal will be like no other! Come dressed to walk on the red carpet.
May - Junior Campout - this year, we're not locked in, we're locked out! Bring a tent and we can all camp out together on the football field under the stars.

The GRAND OPENING of the first ever Thomas Jefferson School Store by the Class of 2009! The School Store?s purpose is to provide school supplies, greeting cards, balloons, and other items for the entire school population. The store will also serve as a location from which school clubs can sell their fundraising items.
The new school store will open in January under the management and to the benefit of the class of 2009. In the next school year, the school store will be under the management and supervision of the Class of 2010 junior class and so forth. The plan is for all future junior classes to have the opportunity to run the store for one year and benefit financially thus helping to pay for their class expenses.

The annual Class of 2009 ice skating get together will be at the Reston Town Center (RTC) on Friday, January 11th, 2008. Check the junior bulletin board in late December for more details. Everyone who signs up will be able to get a reduced price on their skates and free yummy hot chocolate. Also, the RTC has lots of great shops and restaurants, not to mention a movie theater so everyone can stay after skating to eat dinner and see a movie!
