Apply to TJHSST - Sophomore Round
Admissions Process
TJHSST Admissions accepts a very limited number of students for its sophomore class each year. Students who wish to apply for the sophomore class may do so at the beginning of June for entrance the following September. TJHSST does not admit students for entry to the sophomore class at any other time during the school year.
The number of students who can be accepted to the sophomore class is based in part on student attrition at TJHSST. In recent years, the number of admitted sophomores has ranged between 10 and 18 students.
The sophomore admissions process is completed in its entirety in June each year. The TJHSST Admissions Office administers all aspects of the sophomore admissions process, with the assistance of designated TJ Liaison Counselors. All public high schools in participating school divisions have a liaison counselor.
Students may only apply to the 2012-2013 sophomore class provided that the student is applying from a school division that has not exceeded its attendance cap for the grade for which the student is applying.
If you do not live in Fairfax County, you should contact the Admissions Office at 571-423-3770 or by email at tjadmissions@fcps.edu before you apply to make sure that applications will be allowed from your school division.
