Important Dates
April 1st – Acceptance Letters mailed to the TJHSST Class of 2016
April 11th – Preview Night
This is a night dedicated to provide newly accepted students (and their parents) with information about the various curricular and extracurricular programs available to students to assist them in deciding whether they would actually like to attend TJHSST. TJHSST is not ‘right’ for everyone, our hope is to provide all of you with the information you need to decide for yourselves whether TJHSST is right for you.
April 24th and 25th – Registration Nights
Students are assigned to come in on one of the two evenings to submit all of the necessary registration paperwork. Staff will be available to address individual questions regarding course selections and the transition (both academic and developmental) from middle school to TJHSST. Please make every effort to try and attend on your prescribed time. Please note that TJ has open enrollment so everyone will have an equal opportunity to get into their desired classes (there is no preference given to those students who attend the first night).

May 18th – Deadline to accept offers of Admission
If you haven’t done so yet, acceptance cards need to be returned and submitted to the TJHSST Admissions Office by this date. Failure to do so will indicate that a student does not intend on matriculating to TJHSST in the Fall. If you need additional time to decide, please contact the Admissions Office at 571-423-3770.
May 23rd – TJHSST Sports Physicals
Reminder, if a student plans on playing a Fall sport they will need to have a Sports Physical on file. This is different than the HEalth and Immunization information needed to register. For more specific information about the Sports Physicals please contact our Certified Athletic Trainer at heather.murphy@fcps.edu
May 24th – Student Achievement and Coach Appreciation Banquet (Date Changed!)
Come learn about TJ’s award winning academic teams as we celebrate our students and their team achievements, as well as recognize faculty sponsors and coaches for their leadership and dedication. For a complete list of the academic teams sponsored by the Academic Boosters, please see their website.
- 6:00PM – Social: Meet faculty sponsors and coaches, academic team students, and their parents
- 6:30PM – Business Meeting and Presentation of 2011-2012 Academic Boosters Leadership Team
- 6:45PM – Academic Team Presentations
- 8:00PM – Social, optional team meetings
- 8:30PM – Adjournment
June 6th – Ninth Grade Sports Preview (Date Changed!)
Incoming 9th graders interested in participating in a Fall Sport should come to this informative night to learn all about, not only the Fall sports available, but to learn about tryouts, physicals, and coach expectations for the summer as well. If you are interested in playing a Fall Sport, this is an invaluable night of information. For specfic information, please contact the Department of Student Activities at 703-750-8333.
