The choral curriculum at TJHSST emphasizes vocal training, music literacy, and exposure to a variety of musical forms and styles including classical, folk, jazz, and popular music. It also focuses on actively performing for the community.
Choirs at TJ actively perform throughout Fairfax County and have participated in national and international festivals.
In 1994 the Thomas Jefferson Choral program celebrated the 50th anniversary of the World War II liberation of France. The chorus has also performed at Carnegie Hall.
