Health & Physical Education

The two-year physical education and health program emphasizes health and physical fitness, as well as individual and team sports. Family Life Education and classroom driver education are also included in the physical education program. The goals of the program are to equip students with skills contributing to lifelong fitness and to develop students' interests in sports and physical activity, which they may pursue as adults.

Driver's Education

Special notice regarding a new license requirement for all sophomores enrolled in FCPS for the 2011-2012 school year:

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) will be offering 5 evening traffic safety programs throughout the school year as part of new compulsory attendance requirements for new drivers. The dates for the mandatory 90- minute traffic safety program have been set. This requirement must be met before a student can receive a Driver Education Certificate of Completion which is commonly known as a ( DEC-1 card). All assemblies will be held in the lecture hall from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Remember, as you can see in the attached letter those arriving late Will NOT be admitted.
