Audience:

This is a one week technology training experience for American Overseas Schools educators interested in "hands-on" training in integrating technology into various grade levels and curriculums. This strand will be open to 25 A/OS participants. Staff members from Fairfax County high schools also will be invited for the first time to be JOSTI participants.

Content:

The elementary technology integration strand will focus on investigating reading, writing and mathematics applications in the K-6 environment.

The secondary strand will focus on integrating and using various tools in the four major curricular areas.

Several sessions will be appropriate for both elementary and secondary participants. These will include topics such as managing classroom multimedia projects, using PowerPoint, Inspiration for teachers and students, Microsoft Publisher projects, and using Netscape Composer to create simple web pages, web quests and activities.

JOSTI is sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fairfax, Virginia and the Office of Overseas Schools.
