TJ RenovationRenovation OverviewThe renovation of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2013, with a target completion date of Fall 2016. See the Renovation Brochure (pdf), created by the TJ Partnership Fund, for a snapshot of the project. Check out the video renderring of the new TJ building (also available on YouTube from your mobile device): News & AnnouncementsThe contractor bid date is scheduled to be in early April. Once the building contract goes out for bid, the contractor will be awarded the job and the renovation will be underway a few short weeks later! Phasing TimelineSpecific phasing information will be made available after the contractor is awarded the building contract. All classroom moves being made now are in anticipation of the contractors arriving onsite and are designed to avoid the need to move on short notice once the contractors arrive. There are currently only two moves scheduled for the remainder of the school year: December 21, 2012 ~~ Trailers 1-4, 9-12, & 21-22 will be moving into the new quads of trailers. Room 121 will be moving to Room 130. January 25, 2013 ~~ Rooms 108 & 202-205 will be moving into their new locations and the two additional computer labs in the trailer quads will be online and available for sign up. 236 will be re-opened as a CS teacher workroom.
*** Unexpected moves could develop in the Spring or beyond if, when the contractor is onsite, we discover the need to move additional classrooms is necessary to minimize the impact on the instructional program. If this does occur, we will do our best to communicate with those directly impacted as soon as possible to facilitate the process as smoothly as possible.
