All classroom moves being made now are in anticipation of the contractors arriving on site and are designed to avoid the need to move on short notice once the contractors arrive. There are currently only two moves scheduled for the remainder of the school year:
December 12, 2012 ~~ Summary of the December 12 Brown Bag Lunch questions and responses. December 21, 2012 ~~ Trailers 1-4, 9-12, & 21-22 will be moving into the new quads of trailers. Room 121 will be moving to Room 130. January 25, 2013 ~~ Rooms 108 &
February 15, 2013 ~~ Rooms 202-205 will be moving out to the quad of trailers closest to the building so that construction can begin on the new upstairs cafe' - scheduled to open (we hope) just after Spring Break.
February 20, 2013 ~~ The finalized plans for the new Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology have been provided for formal bid review. Contractors are studying these plans in detail and will submit their construction bids to FCPS in mid March. Construction normally begins 6 - 8 weeks after the bid is accepted and processed by FCPS. All external classrooms are fully functioning and occupied. Our final preparation step is to construct a temporary cafeteria seating and service area upstairs in what was rooms 202 through 205. We would like to thank our teachers for the flexibility and energy required to move their materials and set up a new instructional environments. Additionally, we want to thank FCPS Design and Construction for addressing every need during these moves with great attention and detail.
March 20, 2013 ~~ Contractors bids are due to the FCPS Office of Design and Construction by 3:00 PM.

March 21, 2013 (Evening) ~~ The School Board will be asked to approve the formal release of funds and to allow the project to formally begin with the assignment of the contract.
April 4, 2013 ~~ The contractor for the TJHSST Renovation will be announced/named.
April 25, 2013 7:30 PM ~~ The entire Renovation Team (Architects, Contractors, FCPS Design and Construction, School Liaisons, etc.) will be hosting an Town Hall Meeting. We are going to be asking that school community members RSVP for the meeting. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information soon! May 20, 2013 ~~ The front traffic circle, Door #1 and Door #9 will be closing indefinately. The Main Entrance will be temporarily moved to Door #8 for the remainder of the school year and throughout the Summer of 2013. Kiss and Ride traffic will be redirected up the Access Road for the remainder fo the school year while staff will be asked to park on the southwest end of the school. All students with a valid parking permit will be confined to parking in the Gravel Lot.
