Thomas Jefferson Shakespeare Troupe
Shows
TJST puts on various shows and events each academic year. Generally, the first annual show, called Froshfest, features performances by new actors only (most of the cast members are typically freshman, hence the show's name). Troupe also produces another small production drawing on the very best of its talent pool. The resulting production is performed at a competition hosted by the Folger Library in Washington, DC.
Additionally, TJST arranges the Shakespearience! Festival for elementary and middle schoolers in the early spring. Other performances vary by year, but include events such as performing scenes on J-Day and helping with Shakespeare productions at local elementary schools.
In previous years, TJST performed three full-length shows each year. Information on these past shows was gathered from many sources, but most notably Michael Gold, Liz Harwood, Amy Rose, Diane Samuelson, and Claire Bea.
