Overview

What if we all asked the same question? What if we all answered it together? How could a question change our life at TJ? How could our answers affect the world beyond our building?

The 2011-2012 One Question is "How can we, the TJ community, take action to help prepare students to confront difficult moral and ethical decisions, both now and in the future?", submitted by Andrew Martin, class of 2012.

The 2010-2011 One Question was "How can we maintain our individuality and creativity in an increasingly impersonal and technological world?", submitted by Raynor Kuang, class of 2013. Click here to read the rationale statement suppporting the One Question.

The 2009-2010 One Question was "What are the social responsibilities of educated people?", submitted by Ian Ladner, class of 2012. Click here to read the rationale statement suppporting the One Question.

In the 2009-2010 academic year, TJ inaugurated a new initiative, in which the whole school community focused on One Question. Students had the opportunity in February of 2009 to propose a question, which they would like the school to address. Five questions were selected from all student proposals, and the school community then voted on the final question.

That question served as inspiration for the TJ community during the following school year. It was addressed through various avenues: classes, 8th period activities, speaker series, research projects, a seminar course, and other activities and events.

Be a questioner! Help lead the TJ community in a new quest.
