one book

The One Book selection for 2009 summer reading is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. Faculty and students who reviewed the nominated books particularly liked this non-fiction work on the impact of one man's sense of social responsibility. This book lends itself well to the 2009-2010 One Question, "What are the social responsibilities of educated people?", submitted by Ian Ladner, and in fact highlights all four core principles and skills valued at TJ: Critical Inquiry and Research, Problem Solving, Intellectual Curiosity, Social Responsibility (CIRPSICSR).
