PTSA Committees
Building Renovation Committee The PTSA representative on the renovation committee meets with the architects and design team along with Dr. Glazer, other administrators, students and faculty members who represent a particular constituency group (Humanities, Sciences, Foreign Language, Tech Labs, Drama, Music, IBET, students, etc) to provide PTSA input and report back to the TJ community regarding TJ's upcoming renovation project.
Cultural Liaisons Committee works with culturally-diverse parents, especially those who do not speak English as their first language, into the TJ community.
Database Committee maintains and updates the PTSA database and uses that database to communicate with all or subparts of the TJ community.
Directory Committee is in charge of compiling the information for the student directory, as well as the production and distribution of the directory.
Diversity Committee promotes diversity within the TJHSST community.
Faculty Allocations Committee solicits applications from TJ faculty to fund professional development activities and resources, and provides grants for those activities.
Free Money Committee organizes and administers programs where the PTSA or TJHSST receive funds from Amazon, grocery stores, and other businesses in connection with purchases by people who designate TJHSST as a recipient.
Hospitality Committee provides food, decorations for school-related events.
Jacket Sales Committee markets letter jackets to the TJ community.
Government Relations Committee serves as the liaison to other groups in our community with an interest in TJ, including our state legislators and other Governor's School parents.
Landscaping Committee works year round beautifying TJ's grounds by planning, installing, and nurturing the garden beds.
Membership Committee keeps track of the memberships as people join the PTSA each year, log in the donations and dues, and write thank you notes to all the donors.
Newsletter Committee is in charge of editing, publishing and distributing the monthly PTSA Newsletter, "Tech Cetera."
Publicity Committee contacts local newspapers and others to publicize the achievements of TJHSST students and school events.
Reflections Committee organizes the PTA-sponsored Reflections competition.
Recycling Committee arranges for the recycling of ink cartridges and other equipment in exchange for store coupons.
Senior Grad Party organizes the All Night Graduation Party.
Transportation Committee works with TJHSST administrators and the FCPS Department of Facilities & Transportation to minimize difficulties with student bus transportation.

Non PTSA Committees
Although these committees are not part of the PTSA, the PTSA appoints parents to serve as liaisons or members of these task forces, teams and committees.
Alumni Association helps organize events for and disseminate information to TJHSST alumni.
Curriculum Team works on curriculum projects designated by TJHSST administrators, such as the development of interdisciplinary lessons.
Diversity Team provides outreach to students from underrepresented geographic, socioeconomic and racial groups, as well as to teachers and administrators who work with such students.
Ethics Team organizes programs where ethical issues are discussed by students, faculty, administrators and others.
Faculty Recruitment Team helps identify prospective candidates for faculty positions that are expected to become available.
Human Relations Committee serves as a forum through which all groups, including parent representatives for each of the four student classes, discuss human relations concerns within the school.
TJ Partnership Fund raises money from parents, alumni, and corporations to help bridge the gap between TJ's budget provided by FCPS and TJHSST's needs.
