Math Skills Inventory
Geometry

This skills inventory is designed to determine if you have all of the Algebra 1 skills necessary for success in Geometry. The topics included in this inventory are:

  • Simplifying radicals
  • Simplifying ratios
  • Solving proportions
  • Solving linear equations
  • Slopes and intercepts
  • Graphing linear equations
  • Solving literal equations
  • Multiplying binomials
  • Graphing calculator skills

The inventory is in two parts: non-calculator and calculator. The suggested time limit for the non-calculator portion is 50 minutes.

The calculator inventory is not related to topics specific to the Geometry course, but reviews skills that you should have mastered when utilizing the graphing calculator. There is no suggested time limit for this activity.

You should print out the 2 inventories so that you may write on them as you wish. Once you have completed the inventories, you should check the solutions yourself. If you need to review, there are many websites with Algebra tutorials. There are also many review books available in local stores. In addition, TJ is offering an Algebra Skills Refresher course this summer. For more information about this course, click here.
