Please feel free to explore the site to learn a little bit more about myself and my various
ongoing projects.

About Me
I am a 2008 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology where I was involved
in several organizations both in and out of school. During my senior year, I completed
a science research project, the design and construction of a control system of an underwater remotely
operated vehicle, in the TJHSST Prototyping Lab. This vehicle placed second in the Marine Advanced Technology Center regional competition and eighth the International Competition in San Diego, California. Some of my high school interests and favorite activities
included baseball, basketball, the Monticello Maniacs, student government, DJing, video production, and
web design.
Video Productions
I have completed several video projects, with more hopefully on the
way.
-The Adventures of
Chuckleberry Finn explores the idea of prejudice by applying Mark Twain's classic novel to a
modern day adaptation. This was completed as part of an 11th grade English project.
-The Junior Campout 2007
Kickoff Video, co-produced with John Goodwin (who also wrote the script), was a fun project created as
an introduction to the Junior Campout, setting the mood for the evening.
-During the summer after my junior year, I worked with a team of future moviemakers to produce Trust Issues, piece that explores relationships in life, as well as its cyclical nature.
-Denial (Part
1 | Part
2) was a relaxed, experimental project that represented my first movie made completely with
Adobe Premiere. Inspired by the "Scary Movie" series, it is a thrilling tale of epic proportions.
-Throughout my senior year, as manager of the basketball team, I mimicked Dodgeball's "The Ocho" with a series of basketball highlight videos to commemorate one of TJ's more successful seasons. (Wakefield | Yorktown | Stone Bridge | Hanover | George Mason | Marshall | Marshall | Stone Bridge)
-I kept up my moviemaking adventures through the end of senior year by producing PencilQuest for the Colonial Film Fest. This quirky quest was designed with the goal of entertaining others through an examination of one of the simplest, most rudimentary problems humans face.
-After graduating, I completed Believe It! The Season of Champions, a 20-minute documentary featurette covering the 2007 TJ Soccer Team and its journey to the state championship. The full DVD is available for purchase from Head Coach Sean Burke.
Student Government
Throughout all of my years at TJ, I was an active member of student
government. I served as a class council member during my freshman year, organizing the basketball
tournament and treasure hunt at the Freshman Lock-In. I was appointed Silent Auction Co-Chair during
my sophomore year, and eventually raised $17,000 for our class prom and graduation ceremonies. I was
elected by my peers to serve as class treasurer during my junior year, and as an officer, I helped
to plan the Mr. Colonial competition, Spring Formal, and the Junior Campout. I served as SGA Treasurer
and continued my commitment to student government through my senior year, managing the
SGA budget and helping to plan events such as Homecoming and J-Day.
NCSSSMST
I served as the Logistics and Scheduling coordinator for the National Consortium for
Specialized Secondary Schools for Math, Science, and Technology (NCSSSMST) Student Conference,
which was held at TJ in October 2007. Over 300 students from science and technology schools from
around the nation attended the conference in Washington, DC and participated in exciting events, such
as interactive science demonstrations at George Mason University, a panel discussion on climate change
on Capitol Hill, a visit to the International Spy Museum, and a Washington by Water tour aboard the
recreated Victorian riverboat, The Cherry Blossom.
Basketball
From sophomore through senior year, I played the role of Varsity Basketball Manager, assisting
in both practices and games as a statistician, game announcer, scorekeeper, clock runner, snack bar
volunteer, webmaster, and other capacities.
Website Development
I was the webmaster of several TJ activity websites, in charge of
maintaining online communication and a steady flow of information.
-The Student Government Association
website provides the latest news from the SGA and its efforts to represent and serve the student body.
-The Class of 2008 website provides the
latest news from the class government.
-The NCSSSMST website
serves as center for public information for the recent October student conference.
-The TJ Basketball website is regularly
updated during the winter basketball season as the teams practice and play games.
-The TJ Men's Soccer website is regularly
updated during the spring soccer season as the teams practice and play games.
