This website is designed to give a basic overview of major scientific innovations, inventions, breakthroughs, disasters and events from 1600 AD -2000 AD. We hope this website will be an effective review tool for the AP US History Exam in May.

Our presentation topics for each quarter:

Quarter 1: Evaluate the innovations in communications technology and their impacts.

Quarter 2: Describe the advances in each of the following: roads, canals, and railroads. What were the immediate benefits of these changes? What were the long-term implications for the US?

Quarter 3: TBA

There is a multitude of links on our site. From our quarter timelines, if you click on any item, you will be taken to that item's page. At the bottom of each item's page there are sources that contain links (exterior to this site) to more detailed information on that item.

Words that can be found in the glossary will be in various colors: red (1600-1877); green (1945-2000).

Links to multiple choice questions, primary sources, and a few good exterior links for each quarter can be found on the quarter timelines' respective pages.

Navigation on this website is fairly simple. The menu is on the left side.
