- Listened to three presentations.
- Worked on tutorial, finishing the starting-out page, adding
an index page, and starting a
page on "intermediate" editing commands like C-k.
23 March 2001
- Finished the Multiplexor2 module; there had been a small
bug. However, the bug that I was trying to fix in the map was
not fixed, so I suspect it's located somewhere else. I tried
fixing the input format to DisplayImg (it has trouble with
shorts as opposed to bytes), but the problem remained. I've
emailed my mentor about it.
21 March 2001
- Re-implemented a third-party module, Multiplexor, in hopes
of fixing an odd bug that causes DisplayImg to hang when given
Multiplexor's output. This required
- rewriting a small piece of completely unfamiliar C code
- using sed to make a couple of substitutions in
two very long, automatically generated makefiles
- using mbuilder, a tool for building Explorer
modules, to rebuild the module-to-Explorer interface from
scratch
The new module is a valid module, but I finished as class
ended, so I don't yet know if it actually works.

- Modified map to save results of region-growing and retrieve
it from a file, so it takes less time to get started each
period.
- Worked around a problem with bus errors for DisplayImg by
rerouting its input without Multiplexor.

- Added the three new references to my paper; doing this
properly meant reading some more about BibTeX.

- Internet access down; therefore couldn't work on project
itself, so resumed work on formal paper, starting from my
proposal.
