RFP
Mason Neck Wildlife Refuge has contracted with Leaflet Engineering to
develop a database application to automate data collection and retrieval.
Design teams will compete to develop an application which will best meet
the Refuge's needs. The winning team will automatically receive salary
bonuses. The completed application will meet the following specifications:
Entry screens will be similar to the attached sample.
Users will move thru screens in the same flow pattern as shown.
Modifications to screens or flow may be made with sufficient justification.
Data input screens must be secured from operator modifications.
Bird and other lists will be provided later as groups, than lists within
each group. Make 3 item dummy lists for software development purposes.
Assume that individuals entering information have NO prior knowledge
of computer operation.
Directions must be complete and as foolproof as possible. Remember:
Nothing is foolproof, fools are ingenious.
The opportunity for users to enter data that is meaningless or outside
the scope of expected responses should be minimized.
Evaluation of finished products will be based on:
Collecting all required information and providing required reports.
Ease of data input.
Ease of data output.
System security.
