Lesson Plans

The following are the lesson plans for our cell instruction unit:

• All students will meet together for a basic instruction unit as described in Appendix A.

• Students will be broken into three equal groups to rotate between the following activities:
• Room/Group 1: Cell cookies (Appendix B, Section 1)
• Room/Group 2: Living Cell/Machine (Appendix B, Section 2)
• Room/Group 3: Games (Appendix B, Section 3)

• After students have been through each group or room, they will all be brought back together for the final activity described in Appendix C.

• One hour and twenty minutes were allotted for the set-up, instruction, activity, and clean- up for each group in Activity Two.
• The total time for all three activities is about six hours of instruction and supplementary activities. The program may be broken up into pieces or abbreviated.
• If a 'stalling activity' is needed, any kind of worksheets or games (such as a crossword puzzle) may be added
