Trajectory and Projectile Motion and Newton's Third Law

In The Airiana the Human Arrow

These lesson plans have been designed by five ninth grade students from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. The act which is taught has been taken from a 1997 production of The Greatest Show on Earth from Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus. The lesson plans have been designed on a fifth-sixth grade level, and are intended to be not only extremely educational, but enjoyable, and something that will stimulate students to not only learn about Airiana, but to continue to explore Physics principles.

Included in these lesson plans is a glossary so that students will be familiar with physics "lingo," and build the words into their vocabulary. We have also included the equations for trajectory distance and maximum height. Also in this lesson plan packet are step-by-step instructions for creating the Airiana model.
