Fabrication Instructions

To make the crossbow mount:

1. Take the two 7 1/2 * 7 1/2 in base pieces and attach them together by using the 1/3 height legos as follows:

Set these two base pieces now connected aside.

Back Supports:

2. Make two pieces ( now called the back supports) that are 2 1/4 in high (6 regular legos), 5/8 in wide (1 regular lego) and 6 1/4 in long ( 5 regular legos). Instead of using regular legos for the top row of the back supports, use legos with holes in them. Your back supports should look like this:

Now cover the top of the back support with the 1/3 height legos. Remember to make two of these!

Set these pieces aside.

Front Supports:

3. Now make two pieces (now called the front supports) that look like this (below) with pieces that all have holes. These front supports should be 13 legos tall ( 5 in) and 4 3/4 in long and having a width of one lego. To achieve a width of one lego you might have to double up the legos with holes. Now add a layer of 1/3 height legos on top like you did with the back supports. Your piece will look like this (below).

Remember to make two.

The Base:

5. Set the front and back supports up on the base pieces like this:

(See next page)

6. Now take two lego dowels and place them in the holes at the front of the front supports.

You are now finished with the base piece/crossbow mount.

To make the crossbow:

1. Take the two 9*1*1/4 in pieces of wood and center them on the crosspiece with 1/2 in between them.

2. Glue them on to the crosspiece. It will look like this:

3. Now glue the two 1*2*1/4 in pieces of wood on the top and bottom of the other end of the crossbow.

4. Now glue the two 1/8*1/4*3 in pieces of wood on top of each other.

5. Glue this piece on to the 2*3*1/8 piece of wood (platform) so that one half of the piece in #4 extends from under the platform.

6. Now glue the 1*2*1/8 in piece of wood (foot rest) on the back end of the platform.

7. Place the small eyehook in the foot rest here.

8. Place the two large eye hooks in the sides of the crosspiece.

9. Thread a rubberband through one eye hook.

10. Then tie another rubberband to the end of the first.

11. Put the second rubberband through the small eye hook on the foot rest.

12. Tie the end of the second rubberband to the other large eye hook.

13. Turn the bow over so the crosspiece is on top of the two 9*1*1/4 in pieces.

14. Look at the back end of the crossbow. Cut out the piece on the one 1*2 1/2*1/4 piece (the one on the bottom) that spans the channel in between the two 9*1*3/4 in pieces.

15. Once this piece is cut out, cut a lego dowel in half.

16. Glue one end of each lego dowel on to the back side of the crosspiece.

17. Turn the crossbow over. It should look like this.

To assemble the firing mechanism:

1. Look at the first piece again (the basepiece/crossbow mount)

2. Count back 8 holes from the front of the back supports.

3. Put the two lego dowels attached to the crossbow into the 8th hole back on both of the

back supports.

4. Rest the front of the crossbow on the two lego dowels on the front supports.

It should look like this:

Your crossbow/firing mechanism is finished!!!!

You cab adjust the angle of firing by moving the lego dowels up and down the first row of holes on the front supports.

To build the net:

1. Drill holes 1/8 in in diameter in the 4 corners of the 10*10*1/8 piece of wood.

2. Place the two large dowel rods in the back two holes and the two small dowel rods in the front two holes.

3. Cover the ends of the front two (small) dowels with a small square of quilt batting.

4. Tie the elastic string around all four dowel rods so it looks like this.

5. Now, glue the netting on to the back two (large) dowel rods so the netting is secured in the back and falls loose over the front two dowels like this.

6. Now place two layers of quilt batting along the base of the net.

Your net is finished!!!!
