Design Statement: This house is designed for a mid-sized family. It includes a spacious kitchen and areas for entertaining guests, as well as room for family living and business. The bottom floor is the entrance level and laundry room. The 2 upper levels are the main living area for the family, with bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. The top floor also accommodates those with a longing for the great out-doors, with a staircase leading to a hatch in the roof where there is space to lie and picnic or stargaze. This house has a lot of natural light with many windows and a large balcony area with both exposed and sheltered areas. The concept of this house is very specialized and unique, located 20 feet above the ground, supported in theory by a tree. Built mainly out of wood, the house blends with nature and is an integral part of its surroundings. |
