Design Statement: This residence was designed to be a college dorm house. There are seven girls sharing it, therefore it is spacious and there are three bedrooms (one for the resident assistant). Because it is a college dorm, it includes resources such as a mini library and a study/classroom like setting. However college is not just studying and learning, there are bound to be parties. So the common room was created with a vaulted ceiling and made of glass to create a spacious feeling. Also, if a quiet place is needed there is an interior garden to seek refuge in. Although the buildings are within walking distance in this suburban college campus, some of the girls own cars and so a two-car garage is available.
Furthermore, though there are superb restaurants and bars nearby and the college boasts the nations #1 dining plan, it is also known for its state of the art kitchens within the college houses for students to use if needed. It comes complete with an island, oven, and etc. There are specialties with each college dorm house. In this one there is a Jacuzzi underneath a trellis for vines and other plant life to grown on during the Summer. In addition, there are running machines to keep away the freshman 15 symptoms. Finally, each of the college houses has a place where a secret treasure is hidden... |
