November 6, 2002

Today I browsed the internet, looking for a different tutorial on Python, as the one I've been using has grown incomprehensible.

November 7, 2002

I wasn't in class because of a Psychology field trip.

November 11, 2002

I picked a research topic to fulfill the second part of the Portfolio Check. I will study PGPLOTS, and I posted my findings on my webpage.

I spoke with Mr. Latimer today to fulfill the Latimer Logs requirement. I also decided to switch tutorials.

November 18, 2002

I was not in class today.

November 19, 2002

Finally I can create programs and have some sample code. It is in my /Python directory. My new programs are canvas1.py, compare.py, and change.py

November 21, 2002

Today, too, was devoted to the creation of new programs. I also learned how to make lists and manipulate them. My latest program is lists.py.

November 25, 2002

More of the same. Perhaps today I'll add more pictures to my webpage. I'll also update all of my logs and iteration reports.

November 26, 2002

I played around with classes in Python, and made some short porgrams to demonstrate what I've learned. An example is classes1.py.

December 2, 2002

I can now successfully write methods in Python, and I have added quite a few sample programs to my repitoire.

December 3, 2002

December 9, 2002

Today is for updating all of my logs (daily and weekly) as well as my iteration progress reports in preparation for the upcoming interims

December 10, 2002

More work with code today… I hope to get going with the Canvas stuff, but have been stalled by incomprehensible programming guides. I kept at it, though.

December 12, 2002

I learned about screen shots, and put up screen shots of some of my programs on my web site.

December 16, 2002

I put links to my code up on the web site.

December 17, 2002

I tried to fix up my programs to get them all running, but was unsuccessful with them. I’ll keep trying later.

December 19, 2002

I researched GUI designs and wrote some code.

January 6, 2003

Back in school! It’s 2003! I kicked off the year by leafing through the Python book.

January 7, 2003

The Python book has turned out to be very helpful. I read up on Canvas and buttons, and can now use both of these Python methods.

January 9, 2003

I worked on the research and abstract parts of my poster, and read more out of the Python book.

January 13, 2003

I spent today finishing up the things that will go on my poster. I posted them on my web site.

January 14, 2003

I picked out the colors for my poster: turquoise with pink and white matting. I put the turquoise background on the poster and typed some stuff up (titles etc.)

January 16, 2003

Who knew that drawing a stick figure in Python Canvas as a poster graphic could take all day?

January 20, 2003

No school. Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

January 21, 2003

I was absent due to a doctor’s appointment.

January 23, 2003

I worked on my poster, cutting out the pink paper that will go in the background. I also spent some time writing the ‘Model’ section of my poster.
