DATAKEEPER - ITERATION PROGRESS REPORT #2

By Laura Strickman
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a brand new project. I just started thinking about it several days ago. If it's not too advanced yet, that's why. See my new project proposal and daily journal for information and progress made on my previous project.

Plan For this, the beginning iteration of my project, I need to define specifically how I'm going to put it together, plan out some sort of order for when I'll work on what, and decide whether I want the Datakeeper to be a web-based program or a piece of software. I also need to begin research on how to code forms and how to securely store information.
Design & Coding This iteration does not include a good deal of coding- right now I'm working more on researching my topic, building up a library of helpful links, creating a Project Proposal, and other necessary steps for beginning the project. For more information on the design of the project, check out my brand new Project Proposal.
Testing The main test for the success of this iteration is whether or not I am ready to begin coding by the end of it, and whether or not Mr. Latimer approves the new project. Hopefully by the end of this iteration I'll be able to finish up all the administrative business and get down to writing the program.
Possible "Deployment" There is really no opportunity for a release of an incremental version at this point. By the end of the second iteration, however, there should be a version ready to post, although not yet with full features.
Users Datakeeper, if successful, could be introduced as another feature of the student Intranet. It is mainly designed for student use, although I'm sure businessplaces also have many redundant forms that it could be employed to reduce.
