ADC Working with 68008
I have just completed circuitry to allow my 68008 circuitry to interface with a MAX153 ADC. A the position of the dial on a potentiometer is converted to an 8-bit digital representation, read into a register on the processor with a small 68k program, and display on the seven-segment display. One concern that I have is that the less significant nybble generally reads 'F' (see picture in gallery), suggesting some error. This is reasonable; I am sampling at roughly 500kHz, so some error can be expecting. My next addition to the circuit will be to add ... (read more)

68008 Circuit Works
I am using a Motorola 68008 microprocessor for array signal processing (see Project Brief and Array Theory in the Articles section). After several weeks of circuitry design and wiring, my support circuitry for the 68008 now works. Pictures will be up soon in the gallery. Although it just displays the number '3', more is comming soon. Specifically, I'm working on input hardware that will eventually allow the user to steer the direction of the main lobe with a dial. While I wrote this test program by hand, looking up all of the machine codes in ... (read more)

Site Up and Running
Although much more content will be coming in the next few days, this site is now operational with a stripped-down PHP content management system I coded from scratch. Current content includes a tutorial I wrote a while back for GNU Octave. If you're interested in numerical simulation or want to learn a bit about an open source alternative to MATLAB, take a look. Also operational is the Contact section. Drop me a line if you have any comments or suggestions.
