02/10/03: Durn the Snow Day

Nevermind the title...I'm just a little bitter about losing both my Friday and my President's Day.  We were supposed to practice for the Swing Dance performance in the Black History assembly...but that's not related to my techlab project so I'll shut up about that now.

So anyway, I did watch and tape three of four programs I planned to tape this weekend.  The USS Arizona program turned out a little useless since it didn't really focus too much on the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  However, the Liberty Ships of WWII and the Tet Offensive program were chock-ful of primary source videos that can be exhibits in my museum: Liberty Ships, aircraft carriers, the early days of landing on aircraft carriers, the capture of the American Embassy during the Tet Offensive, the capture of Huay (sp?) during the Tet Offensive, the impact of the media on the Vietnam War, and President Johnson announcing his intention not to run again after pulling American troops out of Vietnam.  I'll have to write up summaries and make exhibit pages for all of them though.  Expect to see them by Wednesday, I hope.
